Meet Eduard Gud - Construction Superintendent

Earlier this year, Ed Guud joined SZ Build, bringing a diverse set of skills as a Construction Superintendent to our multi-disciplinary team. He is currently completing an extensive remodel / addition and at the forefront of coordinating sub-contractors on a new construction home, both on Mercer Island. Ed’s attention to detail, hands-on expertise and collaborative spirit contribute to positive client experiences throughout SZ’s Design | Build process.

To learn more about Ed, his background & experience, we asked a few ‘getting to know you’ questions. Fun Fact: Before Ed rolled up his sleeves on construction sites, he was a surgical tech in the medical field.

Meet Marianne Fitzwilliam - Architectural Intern

Earlier this summer, Marianne Fitzwilliam joined SZ Design | Build, bringing a diverse set of skills as an Architectural Intern to our multi-disciplinary team. She is currently completing her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Washington, where she is a member of the Student Advisory Council. After a very productive summer, Marianne joined her UW cohort in an immersive program abroad.

Meet Tommy Johnsen - Construction Project Manager

Last Fall, Tommy Johnsen joined SZ Design | Build, bringing a diverse set of skills as a Project Manager to our multi-disciplinary team. He has worked in construction, I.T., media, and emerging industries and is presently managing ~4MM in active construction projects with a total portfolio of ~6MM (including projects in design and warranty). His role focuses on estimating, scheduling, sub-contractor coordination, client relations and generally bringing SZ’s architectural & interior designs to life.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

Building relationships with trade partners and having the opportunity to leverage those resources to accomplish complex building projects is an incredibly rewarding aspect of the work I do.
